Abby Kylix is a fine arts illustrator based in Buffalo, NY. She works in a variety of mediums, including acrylic, gouache, watercolor, ink and colored pencil, often combining several into a single piece. While her work can be classified as figurative, Kylix also incorporates abstract elements, and enjoys exploring the differences between the two. In serial works, Abby explores dichotomies and natural opposites, acknowledging two sides of the same coin. Inspirations are drawn from the human form, animals, nature, reflective surfaces, and fantasy elements. Kylix maintains an artistic practice which includes live figure drawing, plein air and still life studies, in order to continually improve her understanding of the relationships of color and light.
